Neighborhood Clean-Up & Annual Meeting
Community Clean-up Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Meet at the bridge at 1:00 PM to help beautify the neighborhood. Dumpsters will be placed at Early Spring Way north end and Sea Shadow north lot.
All hands meeting time is to be determined afterward.
Snow Removal Guidelines Established
In light of last year's high snow removal costs, SBCA has established guidelines to keep these costs down. Professional snow removal and treatment is required when snow is greater than 3 inches. In the event of a snow storm, residents are asked to clear the sidewalks in front of their house as soon as possible. This keeps the community safe and minimizes HOA costs when recruiting professional services. Additionally, consider assisting clearing common area sidewalks as well. See full guidelines.
Towing Policy Reminder
The storage of unregistered/unlicensed vehicles, or vehicles with expired tags, on Spring Breeze Community Association property is prohibited and is subject to removal by towing.
Parking Policy Reminder
There is no reserved parking in our community, after snowstorms or otherwise. Our official parking policy states:
Residents are requested to park only one vehicle per household along the sidewalk in the lined spaces. This will enable all residents the opportunity to park one vehicle close to their home. It is also requested that only two cars per household park in a lined space. Additional vehicles should park along the curb or on the street.
Items placed to reserve parking are considered abandoned property and will receive a warning of disposal.
We encourage everyone to establish good relations with neighbors in this matter. Clearing multiple parking spaces after snowfalls helps your neighbors, especially one who may have a physical limitation. Likewise, parking in a cleared space after not clearing one yourself may promote resentment.
January 2011
The Howard County Police homepage offers many tips for crime prevention. There are also numerous brochures on a variety of safety topics.
In conjunction with the Police Department, the Howard County Safety website offers monthly safety tips. The January tip involves recording property information (especially new personal property information):
The County snow plan covers more than 1,000 miles of roads. At the beginning of the winter season, 13,000 tons of salt stands ready to be dispersed by a fleet of more than 100 snow vehicles all equipped with automated vehicle-locating devices, allowing the Bureau to track real time progress during a storm. In the event of a storm, go to the Howard County Snow website and see which Howard County roads have been serviced. Progress maps are updated every 15 minutes during a storm. Residents may also call 410-313-2900 for updated, general information concerning the Bureau's maintenance efforts.
Residents that receive curbside yardwaste collection can recycle Christmas trees on their normal recycling day from January 3-21, through Howard County's Merry Mulch program. For site locations and additional details, visit the Howard County Recycles website. |
